Marking the transition of Suzanne van der Velden after 10 years as General Manager of SAS-P
After ten years of dedicated service, Suzanne van der Velden is stepping down as General Manager. She began her involvement with SAS-P as a board member and has led the organisation for the past eight years. Suzanne played a pivotal role in building and professionalising the foundation.
During her tenure, SAS-P grew significantly in both scope and strength. Annual giving increased from €0.5 million to €12 million, and since 2017, hundreds of initiatives have received grants ranging from €50,000 to €3 million —always with a strong focus on achieving maximum impact for the most vulnerable people. Suzanne reflects:
“I think that after ten years, it’s time for new leadership. I’m excited to chart a new course and see what beautiful opportunities may come my way next. “
Chair of the Board Mark Schneiders adds,
“Suzanne has built a portfolio of more than 60 outstanding partners. She developed a strong international network and left a clear and lasting mark on our strategy. We are deeply grateful for the solid foundation she leaves behind.”

The continuity of SAS-P, as well as the granting of donations, is safeguarded during the period in which a successor General Manager will be sought and onboarded.
